IES was set up by lawyers Mariangela Gramola and Matteo Centurelli coming together with a strong desire to create an organisation capable of meeting the needs expressed by clients, especially by corporate clients, after decades of experience at their service.

Mariangela Gramola

Professional experience
She is licensed to represent clients before all the Italian courts, appeal courts and high courts.
She began her professional career with leading law firms in Milan, gaining twenty years of experience, operating mainly in the following areas:

• domestic and international contracts
• legal assistance to companies during start-up and subsequently, in Italy and abroad
• domestic and international mergers and acquisitions
• Italian and European Union antitrust law
• direct investment abroad (setting up branches, subsidiaries and joint ventures)
• protection of trademarks, models and against unfair competition
• domestic, EU and international litigation, representing corporate and private clients
• arbitration
• enforcement in Italy of foreign court decisions and of Italian court decisions abroad

Since 1996 she has also been a researcher and lecturer for the law degree course at the University of Padua, focusing on European Union law and international law.

The strong interest in international issues, both legal and economic, the in-depth knowledge of the law, but also a very practical approach, characterize the activity of Mariangela Gramola.

• PhD in international law from the La Sapienza University of Rome
• FORDUE specialisation course in EC law, organised by the Council of the Venice Bar Association, sponsored by the European Community
• Degree in law with honors from the University of Padua

Matteo Centurelli

Professional experience
He is licensed to represent clients before all the Italian courts, appeal courts and high courts.

After working with one of the most reputable law firms in Bergamo for more than a decade, he acted as external legal counsel for leading Italian companies heading multinational groups, operating mainly in the following areas:

• domestic and international contracts
• company law
• real estate
• labour law
• private and public procurement contracts
• arrangements, bankruptcy and similar procedures
• corporate restructuring
• banking law and corporate finance
• domestic and international litigatio
• arbitration

In the course of his career, Matteo Centurelli has also represented companies on the boards of foreign subsidiaries, a testament to clients’ strong faith in his precision and reliability.
